About
I am Setareh Pourrajabi, an artist from Tehran, Iran, who has felt a profound creative connection with art and painting from a very young age. Drawing and painting gradually became powerful mediums for sharing my thoughts and emotions. A series of serendipitous encounters with brushes and colors, a desire to merge art and life through the manifestation of emotions on canvas, exploration of new artistic methods and experimentation with new techniques, a bachelor’s degree in fine arts, and what can only be described as an artistic alchemy paved the way for professional painting. All of this led to a career with a debut exhibition of water color in 2002.

All of this led to a career with a debut exhibition of water color in 2002.
Throughout my career, I have experimented with my paintings in terms of style, medium, and technique. My artwork was a sphere of pure artistic experimentation to create a fusion of emotions between various reliefs and textures with figurative, abstract, or realism art to capture the true meaning on canvas and wood that I wanted to convey.
My work was characterized by classic realism, using oil paint on canvas and wood. The subject matter of my art came from the representation of nature based on my artistic observation and included all of the traditional categories within western art: landscape, still life paintings, portraiture, figurative and more.
After experimenting with realism and the same method, my focus shifted to expressionism coupled with watercolors, where I was thrilled to paint different moods on my canvas. In 2002, my art had the power to reach beyond a narrative, beyond the moment, for something unique, more transcendent- to some other level of perception.
My paintings represent my landscape of the spirit – the place where my unconscious and conscious meet. My art explores a point where my emotions and outside forces collide as I grapple with my existence in a reactive and ever-changing environment. They are my inner landscapes and perception of the world I live in.
Channeling my artistic thinking and experience, I moved more firmly into the realm of fine art. Venturing into photography in 2005 brings about a perfect union of my two passions. My fascination with capturing the subjects with a unique perspective was a major force in my evolution as a model photographer, which allowed me to introduce another element to this union, further my range of talents, and find salvation and happiness as an artist. My photos feature distinctive aesthetics, great composition, and framing that bring about the best of the unique beauty of subjects and appeal to audiences.
I have broadly exhibited my work at multiple art galleries in Tehran, Iran.
